After many years of service, Mr Austin Dudley stepped down from his role as Councillor last year.

If you would like to join us and help Whixall and its services be the best they can then read on:

You will need to:

• Attend 10 monthly meetings each year
• Be willing to learn about the duties and powers of a Councillor
• Live, work or own land in Whixall or within 3 miles
• Have a keen interest in community issues
• Be enthusiastic about Whixall

You don't need:

• Any formal qualifications
• Any past experience of councils or committee work

Who can't become a Councillor:

• People under 18 years of age
• People with criminal convictions
• Bankrupts or people with a history of fraud
